📋 Preparation Tips
- Be punctual. Aim to join the meeting a few minutes early to account for any technical issues and show that you value the interviewer's time.
- Do your research. Familiarize yourself with our mission, values, and recent projects. This will help you tailor your responses.
- Confirm receipt of your scheduling email. All the necessary information will be included in the .ics file invite. If you have any questions or issues, feel free to reach out our Recruiting Team.
- Prepare your questions. Think about what you’d like to ask regarding team dynamics, company culture, and expectations for the role. We aim to leave the last 10 minutes of every interview to answer your questions so you can get to know more about us!
- Prepare a brief 1 minute intro. There will be a quick introduction at the start of all your interviews and we find it helpful to prepare one in advance.
- No AI tools, please. While we utilize AI tools for our daily work, we do not allow the use of AI tools (including notetakers and recordings) during interviews. Our interviews are designed in a way to gather signals on your logic and reasoning skills as well as how you collaborate with others — seeing how you approach problems and communicate your approach is part of our assessment process. If you forget some kind of syntax or can’t remember how to call an API, ask your interviewer, not ChatGPT!
📅 What to Expect
- Logistics: The interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. We recommend downloading the Teams desktop app though you can also join from your web browser. A link will be sent on the email and in the calendar invite.
- If you’re setting up Teams for the first time, check out our setup guide here.
- Interview Environment: Make sure there are no distractions and you’re in a well-lit area for your video.
📬 Post-Interview Process
- Follow-Up: You can expect to hear back within 48-72 hours after your final interview loop. In some cases, the timeline may be shorter or longer depending on various factors.
📞 Chat with the Talent Team (~30 minutes)
Your first introduction to the team is a call with the recruiting team. This conversation will cover your past work and what you’re looking for, motivations for joining the team, and an opportunity to ask any questions you have about us.
🧑💼 Call with an Eng Lead (45 minutes)
If the team decides to move forward, your next call will be with an engineering team lead. This interview will cover your specific skills and past experiences as well as the type of technology you’re familiar with. Expect questions about past projects, problem-solving approaches, and relevant technical knowledge.
Initial & Full Loop Interviews
There are 2 rounds of technical and behavioral interviews. These are a chance for our team to assess your skills and what it would be like to work with you. This is also an opportunity for you to meet your future coworkers and ask any questions you’d like.
Below is an outline of all of the interviews that we may schedule with you. Depending on what role you’re interviewing for, there may be some differences in which interviews are included in your process. Open the toggles for more details.
